Technical Description:
Habit: A spreading shrub.
Shoots: Very green, straight and upright shoots. Yellow buds distributed regularly along the shoots.
Leaves: Very bitter, erect, glossy, almost hairless, bluish white below, small teeth on the leaf margin.
Catkins: Female; releases a prolific number of seeds.
Comments: Was planted in the early 1970s, mainly in the Bay of Plenty/Rotorua district and the South Island high country.
